Enrichment Programs

Drama

Middle school drama is a club introducing students to the skills and disciplines needed to be a focused and successful actor.  Acting study is based on group games, memorized scene work, monologues, improvisation, and imagination.  This club provides a wonderful opportunity for the students to enrich their public presentation skills and expressiveness.

Hydroponic Garden Club

The Hydroponic Garden Club meets once a week to work on the school’s hydroponic garden.  Students in this club will learn how hydroponics work, and what is required to grow a variety of plants including vegetables, fruit, herbs, and flowers.  Students will also be charged with maintaining the garden and harvesting the food as it becomes available.

Craft and Legos Clubs

Our Early Childhood Center Lead, Julia Ekhlassi, hosts four clubs for children after school. They meet once a week from dismissal time to 4:15 p.m. from September through May, minus school holidays. The clubs are an opportunity for your children to use their creativity while having fun.

Each session begins with a snack, about 10 minutes of play and then straight to crafting or Lego- making.

Junior Craft and Legos Clubs (VPK-Kinder)

Tuesdays, on a rotating schedule children, meet to create a hand-made craft or let their imaginations soar by creating Legos works of art. Children create projects in each session, but often the children like to work on them for several weeks. The finished Lego projects are displayed for a week and the following session the children get to re-imagining new creations. Children take their crafts home as soon as they are ready. Holiday-themed crafts are a favorite.

Craft and Lego clubs (first grade and up)

Thursdays, on a rotating schedule, children meet to create crafts or build Lego projects. The finished Lego projects are displayed for a week and the following session the children get to re-imagining new creations. Children take their crafts home as soon as they are ready.

Cost is $5 per session and includes all materials and snacks. To register please contact Mrs. Ekhlassi, jekhlassi@stmarys-school.org, or call the front office.

Science Research Club

Science Research is a science fair competition club.  It is designed to help middle school students interested in a scientific subject area to develop the skills needed to research the topic, design an experiment to test their hypothesis and to collect and analyze data.  Upon completing their research, students in science research club will ultimately compete in the Intracoastal Science Fair in February.  Students in science research in the fall need to commit to begin in the program for the first two trimesters.  In addition to meeting during our Club period, the science research student will also meet once a week after school.
